Notes:

Today's show was typical on purpose. One of our listeners cornered Jeff at the Boris performance saturday night and said the show had a formula... a predictable routine. So Jeff took his comment seriously and followed it to a tee. Bantering, sCraTchy 78s, Neil Y, Gillian, trucker lingo, Honky Tonk, Surf, rare recordings and new releases. Loki came late and I begged Jeff to play some Mudhoney or even a little Nirvana... as usual no dice. I had to wait for Johnny Trash's show to hear some hardcore electic guitar. It was perfectly déjà vu. Problem... there wasn't enough time, so next week the show will be more of the same. And, believe it or not, the week after that will be even more of what our listeners have come to ExpecT. Of course we went directly to the Rio Grande for refreshing adult drinks under the cooling mist on the patio in the sky. YOU owe us a round.

Happy birthday Ed Post. Conor, you were right Boris blew the roof off the foundation. Best live music I've seen in 2008. My Pink CD order is being processed. Come on, do something confusing.

Check the Denver/Boulder concert scene.

COLOPHON: As I write I'm doing what I do as I do it most of the time. Listening to reissued Sebadoh on headphones. Taking little breaks to crank the telecaster. Sipping a mixed drink to calm my nerves. Searching here and there on the worldly net. Ah, the life... the good, extended, repeating saga in the darkness near Colfax street. Then I wash the dishes and go to sleep in a semi-coma.
