Tranquilizing into out of real time. Boundary
Waters travelogue spill over. Gravel roads ending at gravel parking
lots at the water's edge. Follow meandering shorelines eyeing inlets and
points like road signs. Push against the wind and current. Run with the
current and wind. Read the water. Drink the lake. Walk the boat overland
like a 19th century Indian. Red sunset laughing loons. Fish with teeth taste
better, especially for breakfast. The forest is stereo... no, it's surround
sound. Is Swamp Lake a lake or a swamp? Let's go see. Today's play list evolved during a Duluth diner breakfast binge. Random thoughts dripping from a paddle. Good hot coffee in heavy white cafeteria mugs. Deep blue wispy cloud morning sky over Lake Superior. Feeling like a local, but the locals know you're not. The feeling you get when in a new town and everything is fresh and perfect and the only let down is heading home to all things familiar. Right off Uncle Jeff made this show's theme obvious with an old Hamm's Beer jingle. The sixth set of music, It Takes A Train To Laugh, Church Of Nicotine, Carolina Rain and Wind and Rain was my intensive care unit morphine dose. SOooo good.! That one took me over the moon to reincarnation. Based on the number of calls many listeners reached nirvana too. Today's show is dedicated to Dave, Di and Alex. Stay tuned for next week. |
