Notes: Thoughts grind between imaginary steel plates till they squeak. The sound of the industrial machine decomposing rubber, splattering against the earth's surface and bouncing toward the atmosphere. Scanning what I see, to what happened this past week, to what may happen and then back to where I am. I'm traveling north, caffinating nerves and reconstructing my mind.

Today's show didn't actually begin until Ciudad Mia played. This new Moe Greene Specials' tune of mysterious guitars, distant horns, and sensuous Spanish dialog drifting on a French accent stole the show. Jeff received the pre-release CD in the mail, postmarked Antwerp. Without knowing the lyrics it seems to be the soundtrack to passing a beautiful lady on the street. A finalized CD, Open Road (again) is due out at any time. Other standout traks included anything Moe Greene, Sid Hardrock Gunter and Adam Franklin. Everything else seemed an odd detour.

Finally, I headed up the canyon, past the drinking fountain beside the gravel road to the disc jockey campfire. Icy margaritas, burgers and beans fueled a mad musical debate. Burning pieces of old siding, random limbs and cardboard put out a smoke screen, keeping the Feds at bay. A circle of seven rickety chairs positioned the seasoned DJ's for cultural debate. Opinions flew and mucho drinks were encapsulated. Rain refreshed us and the debacle continued till no one could stand on one foot. Somehow something got burnt to a hard drive for later dissipation via the airwaves. Not to worry, we are at all times under control.

Tonight the drive home is a little sloppy. I listen to Ciudad Mia again. Then Buicks OTM (on the moon). Those grinding steel plates are separating and the distant moon begins to shine through. Me thinks tequila should be classified as a drug, not a mere beverage. So, thoughts go from my brain to the paper. You are the victim. Till next week.
