Notes:

Low clouds over the Flatirons, but my mind is clear and empty... not numb. A calm with no hint of stress in the future. A great feeling of cognitive freedom. This is a clearness that precedes change. I wonder and wait.

One thing's for sure, Uncle Jeff came prepared for today's show. I think it was last tuesday I received Jeff's 2006 top 10 list. This was surprising since he usually gets it to me between Christmas and New Years. Must have to do with his 2007 resolution. Listed in order of importance:

1. Webb Pierce- The Complete 4-Star and Pacemaker Recordings (Acrobat)
2. Oakley Hall- Gypsum Strings (Brah)
3. Moe Greene Specials- The Moe Green Specials (Green Cookie)
4. Graham Lindsey- Hell Under the Skullbones (Spacebar Recordings)
5. Hank Williams III- Straight to Hell (Bruc Records)
6. American Primitive- Vol. II (Revenant)
7. Loomer- Songs of the Wild West Island (Newtone Records)
8. Ryan Adams- 29 (Lost Highway)
9. Bud Isaacs- Bud's Bounce (Bear Family)
10. Drive-By Truckers- A Blessing and A Curse (New West)

Today's tight Route 78 West show hit traks contained in the list.Hopefully you'll get over to your fav music store and treat yourself to an early gift. It came to mind that Richmond Fontaine didn't make the list, but only because they did not release a CD in 2006. So, if you have any thoughts about the top 10 drop Uncle Jeff an email. He's always ready to talk music.

Ukulele Loki is winding down from a pressurized semester of school. Now he will be able to commit more time to performances with his Gadabout Orchestra. Stay tuned for future show dates and locations.

Post show gathering at the Rio Grande extended an hour past usual with vast conversation and holiday tequila merriment. I headed to the Brewing Market (serious wi-fi internet scene) before tripping down route 93 to the city. Yep, clearness precedes change!

Thanks to Danny for doing the show last week.

Adios.
