Notes: |
I sit scribbling this memo listening to The
Pink Mountaintops and watching The Endless Summer. I don't recommend
this unless into your last half renaissance. A complete mind game processing
the change in seasons. Forty years ago I would of been raking leaves and
burning them in the backyard near the tracks. By the time the 511 shot by
on track three I'd be eating pot roast and looking forward to watching black
and white TV. My Dad would pull on a "handy cellophane
tab" to open a new pouch of Cherry Blend Tobacco, light up his pipe
and read the paper till he feel asleep. Now color coordination is direction.
Any day the lettuce could bring disease and crumble the world just like
Stalin wanted. Maybe music can save us just like it did in the 60s? Me thinks
Uncle Jeff feels the same way. He's been digging back to Boston Folk and
Western Pedal Soul to inspire the future. Bring us back to where we never
were. Let us relive times we didn't know were good. Reverb the politics
and beat the politicos like a tribal drum. Amphetametric drone and volume
is my chicken soup. And late-nite short wave hints truth. Today's hot trak, "It'll Take A Long Time," by Sandy Denny. Leave it to Wizard Jeff to get this trak out on the waves. "There is no need for rules, there's no-one to score the game and there is nobody living in this town as even knows its name." This Friday, November 10th, hear The Hacienda Brothers at Benders Tavern. |
