Notes: Jeff's mind wandered historic Americana streets rousing ghosts of western legends, acoustic icons and harmonizing ideologies. Three blocks into the ghetto on a dank bus stop bench sat Hank the 3rd reminiscing his heros. Distant echoing freight trains roused dogs to song and deconstructed my reality to glass.

This isolation ensued from Hank 3's release of the double CD, "Straight To Hell" on the BRUC label which Uncle Jeff glorified as, "One of the best solid country records that's come out in a long time."

Liner notes claim recorded, "In a house with a good wooden room in East Nashville." The percussion in "Country Heros" seemed to be nothing more than a solitary hollow wood on wood beat behind smooth shades of guitar, standup bass and sentimental lyrics. If you hurry out and purchase "Straight To Hell" it includes a limited edition picture LP... a dam sweet deal.

Traces of George Jones and Willie Nelson influenced a varied selection of the country genre encompassing the Route 78 West motif. Tidbits of Uncle Jeff nostalgia added depth, but never over-road the show's melodic composition. I rate today's episode, "Grade A" and recommend a download for future or repeated listening.

Stay tuned next week for a Ray Wallace studio visit. Adios.
