Notes:

One degree. I began my trip to Boulder. By the time I pulled into the coffee stop I was warmed up. I order the usual... two hot chocolates and a coffee, small please. It's sort of like going to work, only there's no BS.

I was happy to find the studio at a comfortable 40!!! degrees. I took off one layer, but kept the rest, including my hat. Jeeze!

The show got underway with a standard set of classic old traks followed by religious, good for what ails you melodies. Uncle Jeff is on the mend and he wants you to live a clean and proper life... ahh, well I made that last part up, but the warbling whistling by Marvin Rainwater was the real deal.

Just before 11am Frank showed up just in from a Lawrence road trip. An impromptu flashback set was inspired by a Faces Box Set in Frank's hand. Of course Uncle Jeff put Frank on the hot seat with a short segment of "Name That Tune." DJs and music always point toward trivial pursuit.

The first field report from Milkman Dan arrived via mail this week. News Flash! Milkman recently attended a few exhibitions including an evening with Sir Richard Bishop via the Akron/Family and further south the the Jeff Tweedy show in Portland. This was just a little rest stop en-route to a personal viewing of giant redwoods. Milkman forwarded digital notes of all the action. That is all from the western front.

Life continues at the KVCU Penthouse. We all are anticipating spring and the simple things that come with warmer months. I can already feel the warm afternoon sun and an ice cold adult beverage in my hand as the burgers grill on a low wood fire near the creek. It's enough to make me think there's a few more good times left.

In leu of a hot trak I will instead pick the "Milkman Dedication" set which included Sir Richard Bishop, the Akron/Family and Jeff Tweedy's Blasting Fonda. This set the tone for the rest of my day.

Graham Lindsey interview and informal banjo session next Sunday, February 26th, then see him perform at Benders on February 28th.

Thanks to Frank for supplemental commentary and music selections.
