Notes: Today I recognized a few new labels in the mix. Relaxed Rabbit, Old Hat, Cattle Compact, Red House... all "new to the show" material. While you're riding the bus to the office Uncle Jeff is searching the internet, used bins and box sets looking for what fits. That's his passion along with late-night jam sessions, movies and pictograph canoe trips. He's not one to enjoy the obvious. Jeff's bag is spotting "what's to be" before it's anything. He wants to see a band before they're big-time. He is just a natural at it. Uncle Jeff wants to be living on the ground floor of what's to be. I didn't plan on this turning into an impromptu cut and paste reference for Jeff's resume... it just happened.

You might of vaguely recognized tidbits of the Deadman soundtrack behind Jeff's SxSW endorsements. Yep, you did. How long did it take you to notice the Appalachian "Manic Depression" by Gillian Welch? It's all one big test and Jeff is your guru.

Charlie Schmidt's, "The Slavic Mountain" is today's hot trak. Stay tuned for true stories from Jay's past. See you next week.
