Notes: | We
were all a little ragged tonight. Recovery mode. Out till 3am at the Drive
By Trucker concert. Every minute of lost sleep and brain cells worth it.
The first time I witnessed DBT was February,
2004 and I was blown away. They are better now. Their music is not as
a group of individuals, but a single entity. Sounds flow from one and twist
back into a pleasant smelling, bent string harmony. Three hours of cohesive
whirling rifs vibrating of whiskey, women, politics and death performed
in unconscious control. I swear Johnny Cash's soul was present. Hydration
courtesy of Jack Daniels with a PBR chaser. Tonight's hot traks... anything by Sir Richard Bishop. Looking forward to Dead Meadow 4/21 at the Larimer Lounge and Magnolia Electric Co. & Red Cloud 4/23 at the Larimer Lounge. More notes soon. |
