Notes: | Got
it going about half past 3 p.m. with a Rio Grande late breakfast burrito
slash mexican coffee... made me jittery and had my foot waiting to tap along
with experimental steel, folk bohemia electronica and a smidgen of traditional
waltz. Fahey is the "one man and a guitar" extraordinaire who
started it all in 1961 with small recording runs of the "classic acoustic"
stuff. More Fahey historika. Uncle Jeff leans back in his chair, shakes his head, then his hands cause he can't wait to play the next trak. He's got three cued up and I'm sure he won't get to everything he wants to play. For a spell the show detours to sounds of the far east and my mind travels backwards to remember just how fun it was. Lots of finger picking to listen to tonight. New school. Old school. Opens your ears and your mind. Music to think about where you want to go. It was tuff to pick the best trak, but Gavenhurst's, "Black Holes In The Sun" won out as soon as it registered. Uncle Jeff rates it as the best music he has heard so far this year. Good news faithfull listeners... the web site can once again be reached at www.route78west.com. Thanks for your patience during our techno-glich. Till next time. |
