Notes: |
Uncle Jeff pulled up in the International with a load of hay and Otter at
co-pilot... it was 4:40p.m. I dumped my quarters in the meter and walked
over as Jeff got out of the truck. Otter got a few pats on the head and
then we headed to the studio. I'd been in Omaha for the past 5 days and
was fighting off a midwestern haze surrounding my brain. Jeff was just Jeff.
A little after we got down to the studio Danny showed up and a second after
that Loki strolled in. Music buzz began and Uncle Jeff figured out the perfect trak to start the show... he let Homer & Jethro spin out over the airwaves. Jeff's saying he wants to do something different... wants to talk over the end of the trak, so with 30 seconds left Loki flips on the mics and the fun takes shape like a coffee klutch with a turntable. Danny and Loki add their two cents while Jeff laughs along. I didn't think it much different than usual. As the music played stories were told and CD's were que'd. The musical mix was set one song at a time and somewhere in between spurts of our real life trickled. Yeap, we have lives and stuff to figure out. We help each other get by whatever comes along. The hot traks included Jungle Fever by Charlie Feathers, 120 Miles Per Hour by The Sadies (Dallas Good vocals) and Calexico's Corona. Post show we stopped by Tom's Tavern for food and drinks. As usual the service was "the best". We even got some good advice from our friend Dee. See ya next week. |
