Notes: | Jeff
brought out some interesting tunes this evening. Traks from the Dylan/Cash
Sessions were good, but tops on my enjoyment index was Webb Pierce's instrumental,
"Steeling The Mood" with Shot Jackson on steel guitar. I also realized
again what I had not thought about recently, Buck Owens is tops with all
facets of music: great vocals, 3 dimensional arrangements and attention
catching lyrics. "The Janitor" by Richmond
Fontaine, courtesy of Comes
With A Smile, was yet another example of the "real life hard luck"
style that will take RF to the top. I will be pursuing acquisition of
Jason Molina's "Pyramid Electric Co" asap. The downer atmosphere and vocal
attitude is burning inside my gray matter. And lastly Iron & Wine
hit the spot too. Get ready for Richard Buckner, Lion's Lair, May 28th. That's it till next time. |
