Notes: | War
is down tempo... it's conquest and plunder. Music during war reminds us
and at the same time lets us forget about that. This show mixed tunes with
talk and left visions of tanks lined up at the German border and a waffing
breeze of the political mustard gas which flows from government buildings
as real people die in far away places. Yep, tonight Uncle Jeff, Loki and
Doc Martin had Armistice Day on their minds. A youngster, a breaded old
music man and Doc, the token veteran, huddled round the mics and spewed
their mantra while keeping a common idea clear, Thanks to all veterans.
I thought it an interesting mix of ideas. The stand out trak was The Carter
Family's, Faded Coat Of Blue. Greg Brown will be playing at the Boulder Theater Friday, December 5, 8pm. |
