Notes: | Both DJs were distressed
with sickness and joked about West Nile possibilities. Loki had missed two
radio shows due to touring Kansas with his circus sideshow and attending
a sideshow convention in Pennsylvania. His jones to do the radio show was
obvious. Go to CrispyFamily.com to see a scrapbook of his trip. Uncle Jeff
was especially interested in the lizard man photo. Jeff had kept the show
afloat in Loki's absence and admitted he played whatever he wanted, "just
because you (Loki) weren't here". Mystery listener "Ted" had sent yet another CD full of classic 78 tunes and was invited to come clean by joining the Route 78 West duo for a show. The playlist was all oldies through the first hour with too many highlights to list. At six p.m. an extended Spaghetti Western segment contained three different versions of the Magnificent Seven broken up by some surf tunes. For the record the original Magnificent Seven was by Elmer Berstein. The show continued with a one-of-a-kind mix of Alt-Country and Traditional Country. Thanks to mystery listener Ted for his support and musical contributions. We split asap... no post show conference due to lack of energy. Look for Pedal Steel Transmission, Sept. 20 at The Climax Lounge in Boulder. Greg Brown will be playing at the Boulder Theater Friday, December 5, 8pm. See you next week. |
