Notes:

The first trak, "Too Old To Cut The Mustard", was dedicated to Uncle Jeff but it seemed Loki could not cut the mustard either as he was running at half speed per the previous night's activities. Not long after the show began Uncle Jeff called from the road... he was fighting traffic in Glenwood but hoped to arrive in time for the second half.

A nasty instrumental by Muddy Waters prompted Loki to continue the "Boogie Shuffle" sound with the Delmore Brothers' "Boogie Woogie Baby", from the Proper Records 4 disc set titled "Hillbilly Boogie".

"Country Music is all about drinkin' or heartbreak" said Loki and this show had a decent selection of both, including the extreme "Goodbye My Heart" from the "Shuffle Town"
box set.

Throughout the show calls came in from Uncle Jeff confirming bad traffic and
sketchy reception.

Porter Wagner's, "Tomorrow We Retire" reminds us all to get out and have some fun cause before you know it you're retired, penniless and all your mustard is gone.

The Spaghetti Western sound from "As A Judgment" inspired a Surf turned Alt Country set and I enjoyed the mutation. Later, Denison Witmer's "It Makes No Difference" gave me a taste of a new CD in which he has recorded covers of popular 70s songs. Check it out on Fugitive Records.

I'm impressed with the Richmond Fontaine traks played tonight. The layers of sound including excello lap steel have me anticipating the release of their next CD.

It was obvious by this time that Uncle Jeff wasn't going to show up. Loki was tired... hanging by a thread. Even so we headed to the Mountain Sun for a burger and conversation with Halden Wofford & The High Beams as they got ready to hit the stage at 10 p.m.

My best to you till next week.
