Notes: | This show took me on an
overdue trip to visit classic sounds of the swamp, polkas
and previews of soon-to-be released CD's. There were no green plastic hats
in the studio, but an edgy Scottish tune by The Whiskey Priests got me considering
a black and tan post show. A pre-release listen to "Polaroid" and "Post To Wire" by Richmond Fontaine caught my attention. RF has stepped up a level and the limelight is near. Stay tuned for the release of this yet to be named album. Brave Combo's "Mystery Spot Polka" reminded Gerry that this band could play music for any kind of wedding and had won a Grammy in the Polka Division a few years ago. Loki was impressed with the Spaghetti Western, so much as to say it was the best ever played on Route 78 West. The remaining traks bounced between chicken scratch and Tex-Mex with a dash of Wammo’s “Hick Hop”… whoa momma! Thanks to Gerry C. for his colorful stories and musical gems. |
