Notes: | Jeff trucked out the
Christmas pile, and proffered up a few good gems from the vaults. The Bear
Family Records from Germany fleshed out the set with some great classic
honky-tonk from Porter Wagoner, Lefty Frizzell and Merle Haggard. These
box sets are the best, with great discographies and period photos included
in the detailed booklets that accompany the sets. Lots of nuggets to mine
here! Loki was still on the lam for the circus performance in Salt Lake, so Jeff flew solo, and didn't even make a mistake (a first)! Lots of calls which was nice, and a great e-mail which made the day that follows: "Subject: RT 78 West is the King of the Road This is my first time listening to your show. The show has a great sound. Now I know what radio could be if we did not have all of the corporate control behind the turn table. Great job on the show, keep the sounds rolling. Hopefully the wind is at your back. Your friend, Greg" |
